The Rose Café’s name speaks for itself – tastefully decorated, with carefully designed menus, floral printed furniture and pastel coloured walls.
Delicate, gorgeous, literally as pretty as a picture, this café in Saket in Delhi is a secret garden in the hustle and bustle of the big, busy capital. If Enid Blyton and Pinterest had a lovechild, it would probably be this café.
Who doesn’t love a café that has an all-day breakfast? Over and above that, they serve sophisticated treats like carrot cake, gooey chocolate brownies, and giant cookies. Bonus points – they have a specially curated vegan menu!
We kick started our meal with Pink Lemonade – fruity, bubbly, fresh and exciting, it perfectly fit our mood and the vibe of the café. A must try if you love a blast of berry freshness!
To go with it, we had the Baked Potatoes with garlic and cheese. Although I personally adore anything with garlic, cheese and potato, I found it to be a tad under-seasoned and under-whelming (but I admit that could be because my taste buds are dead after years of exposure to food laden with masalas!)
For something more substantial, we tried the Eggs Benedict. I love myself some Egg-celent food, and this dish didn’t disappoint. Warm, gooey and perfectly seasoned, they did a wonderful version of this classic dish. Bonus points for nailing portion sizes (it’s perfect for one person).
I saved the best for last – Ham, cheese and jalapeno waffles. Savoury waffles at its absolute best! The waffles were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, golden-brown with a beautiful texture. The cheese topping was laden with ham and jalapenos. Honestly, ham and cheese taste good on everything! Loved this experimental dish.
Note to self: remember to try their special high tea menu!
